Finalizing my nightstand design has been stressing me a bit. I’ve been worrying about inlay patterns, dimensions, drawer sizes… you name it. I realized today, that all of the pictures I have shown thus far are of the nightstand in space. The picture is to scale, but you lose all perspective on it because there is nothing else around to give you a sense of it’s actual size. It is not a large piece of furniture, and I think the design needs to be tailored to it’s size and importance in the overall room where it will be kept. So, I whipped up a quick picture of the piece that gives a better view of it’s actual size.
As you can see below, the shifty-looking guy in the baseball cap is clearly planning to steal my nightstand. The good samaritan is trying to warn the police man (who seems to have eaten one too many doughnuts), but for some reason he only has eyes for the young woman who is walking her dog.

LOL. Well, I thought it was funny. Maybe you’re right, Neil… I’ve been staring at Sketchup for too long.
Never forget that you spend time woodworking because it is fun. It’s enjoyable to lose yourself in the details, but don’t take things too seriously.
And yes, the double entendre in the title of this post was intentional.

Ahhhhh!!!!!!! now I get the picture
