This week I discuss the top six shop improvement projects that I have planned. Oh… and remember back in Episode 2 (My Workbench Can Beat Up Your Workbench) when I referred to Christopher Schwarz as the Oprah of woodworking? Well, Chris found out about that. I’ll tell you the story of how that came about.

Hey Dave,
With little effort you can mount 2×4′s on face to your concrete walls with a little construction adhesive and several concrete nails.
A two pound sledge will drive them right in. Then you could use a French cleat system for infinite adjustable storage.
I just found a Excalibur sliding table for my saw. It’s the one that normally sells for $985. I picked it up for $150 from a cabinet maker that had upgraded to a Minimax sliding tablesaw.
It should make crosscutting long pieces a snap.
As far as your assembly table, I plan on mounting a torsion box on top of an hydraulic lift. That way I can adjust the height depending upon the project. It would also be my finish table. You can get a cheap 1500lbs lift at the dreaded Harbor Freight:D
I’m about a month away from finally setting machines in the shop. I CAN’T WAIT!!!
Dave,
I have the multicolored bins for storing some of my hardware in. They came with a plastic “French cleat” type piece which I mounted in the back of a cabinet I made out of scrap Plywood with a Plexiglas paneled door. I can pull them out and take them to where ever I need them and as long as I keep the door closed they stay relatively dust free. When I buy a box of screws I empty the box into the bin and cut off the tag, which I place in the tag holder on the front of the bin. My only regret is that I didn’t make it big enough to handle my growing needs. I think I’m going to make a bigger on that I can roll around the shop and out of the way.
Thanks for the great show,
Todd
