If you are going to go through all of that to save certain pages of the magazines why dont you scan and save the articles on a CD or your hard drive that you like then you will have them forever and easily accessible, and then sell the intact magazines on Ebay or Craigslist and make a few bucks.  I dont think this would take much more time than what you were originally intending.

Put them in a bundle that would be inexpensive enough for a novice woodworker to want and be able to afford.

Or better yet donate them to a woodworking club or highschool woodworking program.

Just my two cents
