About

Hello there, nice to meet you. My name is Dave Noftz and I’m an amateur woodworker living in the Chicago suburbs. I’m married, I have two young daughters, and I work a full-time job. This leaves me with precious few hours each week to work in the shop, but somehow I still manage to complete a project every once in a while.

I have a respectable, but not extravagant, shop set up in my basement where I practice the art of furniture-making. I really enjoy spending a few hours in my shop and losing myself in the details of a project. Time flies by and the rest of the world disappears for a short while, which really helps me to relieve the stress of a hectic job.

I am entirely self-taught, and I have found that I learn something new from every woodworker that I talk to. I hope that this podcast and blog will not only document my journey through the craft, but also serve as a forum for us to all learn from each other.

Let’s give it a whirl, and see what happens…
